Seaquest Vacation Bible School

As the time for VBS approached, the LBLBC fellowship hall was transformed into the good ship Seaquest. From this red vessel of Bible adventure, over sixty children launched forth into four exciting evenings of diving for God’s treasure. This year, we were able to bring in children from a new bus route near Henry Street as well as from the existing route in the Fruitport/Springlake area. The week of June 21-24 was an exciting time of Bible lessons, crafts, games, and snacks. The hilarious antics of Dr. Scuba brightened the opening each night. This year, each boy who participated in Bible school had the opportunity to learn practical skills through rope tying while the girls enjoyed making nautical crafts.  The special Bible lessons were the high point of each evening as Pastor Hutchison and Shelly Landgrebe showed the children the treasures of God’s Word. Several of these children responded to the messages and received the Lord as their personal Savior. Praise the Lord for the wonderful salvation of these precious ones! Each VBS worker had the opportunity to rejoice in the fruit of their labor.

Welcome to our New Missionaries

Mansfields

We had the privilege of having James and Andrea Mansfield in our services on April 11.  The Mansfields are on deputation and are planning to go to Liverpool, England to start a church.  Getting to know them and their four little boys was a great blessing to our church family.  We have taken them on for support and they are now OUR missionaries!  The Mansfields have chosen a verse as their theme while they are on deputation and also when they get to the field:   I Corinthians 16:15 “…they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.”  May we uphold them in prayer as they seek to get to the field to fulfill the Great Commission.  ”Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.”  Matthew 28:19-20  Please pray that the Lord will provide the support needed so that the Mansfield family will be able to get to Liverpool as soon as possible to share the precious Word of God and the message of the gospel.

Resurrection Sunday 2010

Easter 2010 109

On Easter Sunday we took photos of all that attended our services and put them into frames for display on the following Sunday.  It was a great day in the Lord’s house as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ!  ”And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of  Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.”  Mark 16:6
